Expression of self, perhaps a little more than that.
From Concept Development to Visualization
Culture, Heritage, and Identity.
What's my identity? Without a doubt, I would be best fitting into the following category:
1.5 Generation Korean-American. "The term 1.5 generation refers specifically to immigrants who arrived to the destination country before adolescence" -Wikipedia
I felt pretty good about starting from the design that represents my country, national flag by taking a specific symbol from the lower right corner of the flag called gon ☷ (meaning vitality).
How important is the initials in your logo?
I don't necessarily think making a personal logo with initials is a good or bad idea, but I try to fit it in whenever it is appropriate to do so. Luckily the ☷ shape had enough room for me to work my initials S and C into the design solution.
Symmetry and Balance
I consider myself a fairly balanced person. I definitely value subtlety and simplicity over gaudiness and fancy decorations. I feel like my logo accurately depicts a part of who I am, what I am made of.
